Agriculture services

Aerial support for growers and ranchers.

What we cover

Alpine Aviation provides a variety of helicopter agriculture services, including frost control, cherry drying, aerial surveys, and cattle herding.

Cherry drying

Once orchard cherries start turning red, they lose quality if they absorb water in their bowl-like tops — the water mixes with sugar inside and causes the fruit to expand, splitting or cracking the skin and leaving soft, mushy fruit. Our helicopters fly over the orchard blowing the water off the tops of the fruit, resulting in higher-quality fruit.

Crop pollination

When temperatures run high early in the day, pollen can die before it reaches the seed rows. That's where the helicopter comes in — starting as soon as the dew leaves, we fly up and down the rows to blow pollen to the female plants.

Frost control

When nights drop to freezing and farmers begin assembling large fires around their crop to keep them from frosting, our experienced frost control pilots fly a controlled airspeed and altitude, forcing that heat from the fires to remain down near the surface — saving crops from being lost to frost.

Searching & herding livestock

A helicopter provides an aerial view that makes locating livestock in remote areas quick and easy — cutting down on the time and money spent searching by horseback or ATV.

Aerial surveys

Aerial surveys are typically flown in our R-22 or R-44 helicopter, giving your business the best view and the most efficient way to survey your property available today.
